Cut the ums before anyone hears them

Turn on filler removal and the “um”, “uh” and “hmm” disappear from the clip's audio, video and captions in one pass. The episode itself isn't touched.

So, um, the first thing we did was, uh, call every customer who cancelled. And, hmm, it turned out the problem wasn't the price at all.

Remove filler words: 3 cut from this line

From episode to clips in three steps

Looking for a particular guest's story or a topic you covered? Describe it before you start and the AI looks for moments that match.

  1. Upload the episode

The full video file, as MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM. On Pro, episodes can be up to 3 hours long.

  2. Get the best moments

The AI reads the whole conversation and suggests self-contained clips, each with a score and a note on why it works.

  3. Frame, caption, export

Choose 9:16 with smart reframe, a caption style and filler removal, then download the clips as MP4s.

Which podcast moments make good clips

The clips that travel are the ones a stranger understands without the rest of the episode. In practice that means:

  • A strong opinion, stated in the first sentence
  • A story with a payoff inside a minute
  • A specific number, mistake or result
  • A clear answer to a question your audience asks

A moment that needs ten minutes of setup rarely works on its own, however good it was in context. VisionSnip's picks favour self-contained segments, and you can steer them with a prompt such as “the guest's story about getting fired”.

Framing two people in a vertical clip

Most video podcasts are shot wide, with the host and guest side by side. A vertical frame is much narrower, so something has to give. Smart reframe finds the faces through the clip and pans smoothly to keep them in frame:

  • One face: it stays centred
  • Two faces close enough to fit: both stay in frame
  • Two faces too far apart: it follows the larger, usually closer, face

If your episode cuts between camera angles, it follows the face in each shot. Want both people visible all the time? Choose Blur or Fit instead of a crop to keep the whole wide frame.

How minutes are counted

Minutes are counted by the length of the video you upload, not the number of clips. A 60-minute episode uses 60 minutes whether you make three clips from it or twenty. If processing fails, the minutes are given back.

Questions

Can I use an audio-only podcast?

VisionSnip needs a video file. If your show is audio only, export the episode as a video with your cover art as the picture (many audio editors and podcast hosts can do this), upload that, and choose Blur so the whole artwork shows.

How long can an episode be?

Up to 15 minutes on the Free plan and up to 3 hours on Pro. Pricing lists every plan's limits.

How many clips can I get from one episode?

Up to 5 on the Free plan and up to 50 on Pro. You choose how many to ask for each time.

Will captions spell my guest's name correctly?

Speech recognition gets most words right on clear audio, but names, brands and jargon can come out wrong. Fix them in the caption editor: corrections are saved with the clip and the audio isn't changed.

Can I add music under the conversation?

Yes. Pick a track from the built-in library or upload your own, trim it on the timeline and set the volume. It's mixed under the voices, and stays in sync when fillers are removed.
